History

purelements® Ticino was founded in 2013 as Adreventura Ticino by experienced outdoor guides. Guides who have over 20 years of worldwide experience in the field and have always been looking for a better way to guide their clients in a more professional way. They finally wanted to settle in Ticino, the canyoning Mecca of the world. Continuous quality improvement, as well as a low-risk and safe experience, has always been a top priority for Adreventura in Ticino.

For family reasons, the company was then up for sale in 2017 and since Thomas had always dreamed of a permanent location in Ticino, he took over Adreventura Ticino with his German outdoor company. Thus, in 2017, Adreventura changed name, owner and management and became today’s purelements CH Sagl.

The new owner is Thomas Waibel, a top canyoning expert, managing director and founder of purelements GmbH & Co.KG., although he lives in Germany, Thomas has always seen Ticino as a second home and knows very well the Ticino gorges. Even before the takeover, he was always at Adreventura’s disposal with his know-how about the canyoning destination Ticino and maintained close contact. Every now and then, Thomas even provided support with guest assistance and canyoning guiding.

Thomas wants to keep the spirit and way of working of Adreventura and adds his know-how and philosophy based on safety, respect for nature and attention to the guest.

One thing was clear from the beginning! purelements CH Sagl has the task of continuing the good path of the Adreventura company, which attached great importance to Swiss quality and professionalism. An important part of the work is working with locals, promoting canyoning in Ticino and showing the Ticino people their gorges from a different perspective – even under the new management.

Since purelements CH Sagl is a Ticino company, it was important for Thomas to find a local from Ticino who could take over the management of purelements CH Sagl locally. He couldn’t be in both locations at the same time.

And so it was very easy to find the new CEO of purelements CH Sagl:

The young canyoning guide and studied tourism expert Florian Schauwecker, at that time the right hand of the previous owner and friend of Thomas, Tristan Barette, decided together to accept the challenge and embark on this adventure!

Florian shares the same philosophy as Thomas and was born and raised in a bilingual Italian-German family in Ticino and has strong ties to his homeland …

With Ticino Turismo, the tourism agency in Ticino and operator of the information and tourism website of Ticino and the tourism offices of the regions Ascona-Locarno and Bellinzona e Alto Ticino, we were able to win strong partners. Furthermore, existing partnerships with the Agriturismo La Finca and Camping Riarena could be strengthened.

A wonderful collaboration emerged!

The international canyoning meeting / festival took place in Ticino. A great meet-up of several hundred canyonauts from all over the world – organized by our canyoning friends all around “Bachab.ch” the canyoning club from Switzerland, which we of course supported wherever we could.

We were able to make our contribution to the success of this great event by organizing, marking and repairing the gorges, providing equipment, rental material and canyoning tour vouchers for the locals to try out.

Due to the upcoming Canyonland Canyoning Meeting, those responsible for tourism have also discovered the tourism canyoning potential and so Ticino Turismo, Ascona-Locarno and Bellinzona e Alto Ticino have turned up the marketing for the Ticino region with canyoning.

As a partner, we were allowed to accompany some influencers from Italy and Switzerland and shoot TV programs and video projects.

The biggest video project was with Tele Ticino (Ticino TV). We participated the 2nd time in the program “Ticino Estremo” of Enrico Smeraldi and took him on a canyoning tour in Iragna.

After successful years in our canyoning base in Cugnasco, it was time to say goodbye at the end of the season and think about how we can continue without the great camp. The traditional house shall give way to a new building in order to create living space.

At first we decided to expand our rafting and canoe base in Cresciano near La Finca to include canyoning.

Despite many challenges, we were able to spend a great canyoning and outdoor summer with many local Swiss guests in the gorges of Ticino. Thanks to our Corona protection concept and our wonderful guests and guides, we were able to conclude the summer season 2021 without any Covid19 incidents and go on a well-deserved vacation.

During the winter of 20/21 we used the time to launch the new website for the entire company and to be able to show you all the offers and trips. Clear structures, easy handling and of course online booking for all of our outdoor experiences was important to us. We are proud of the result.
